Bulldogs Get Quality Player In Mick:

Id like to take this time to wish former Vernon Viper forward, Sawyer Mick all the best of luck in Port Alberni! It's too bad Mick & the Vipers couldnt have worked things out, and Mick could have re-joined the Vipers this coming season, but I guess thats the way things go. I was very impressed with Mick a few years back when he attended the Vipers training camp but was a late cut. When I heard the news last year that Mick left the WHL and had signed with the Vipers, I was thrilled. Due to the Vipers have most of the 2008-09 RBC Cup team back, Mick wasnt a standout on a very powerful Vernon hockey club, as the season went on, and a few deals were made Mick found himself in the stands and out of the lineup, wich forced the Vernon minor hockey product to leave the team just days after the BCHL trading deadline.

Rumor was Mick was going to quit hockey and try and get into fire fighting. Then last week news got around that the former Viper signed with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Mick now joins another former Vernon Viper in Port Alberni, forward Trent Dorais. Bulldog fans will like Micks hustle, physical side and skill wich has yet to be really seen. Mick isnt afraid to go into the corners or drop the mits. I think getting away from his hometown and out of the spotlight of his step brother Troy Mick, might help Sawyer. All the best with the Bulldogs!!
