Vipers Clinch Interior Division:

I’d like to thank and congratulate the Vernon Vipers on winning the Interior Division Pennant last night. Mark Ferner, & Jason Williamson have done an amazing job this season, in just Ferner’s 2nd season with Vernon. Even though the Vipers lost last night 4-3 in Westside, the Vipers still managed to clinch the Interior Division Pennant as the Penticton Vees defeated the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 6-0. A win by Vernon or a loss by Salmon Arm and the Vipers would clinch top spot. This is Vernon’s first Interior Pennant since 2004-05. With the loss the Victoria Grizzlies moved two pts up on Vernon for top spots in the BCHL overall standings with a 4-1 victory over Nanaimo. Victoria has one game remaining with a visit to Cowichan Valley tonight, Vernon heads to the Peach City tonight with a game vs the Vees and then has a game in hand with the final home game of the season vs Trail tomorrow afternoon. Looks like were in for a great finish.
