Summerside Capitals have signed former Vernon Vipers defenceman Maverick Hayes. The Capitals are hosting the 2026 Centennial Cup.

Hayes played parts of the previous three seasons with the CCHL Pembroke Lumber Kings.

Hayes attended the Vernon Vipers training camp in August 2025, made opening night roster, was no longer listed on the teams roster in late January 2026. In 26 games with the Vernon Vipers, Hayes collected (1-goal-3-assists-4-points).
