The 0-4-0-0 Vernon Vipers are coming off a 4-1 loss Saturday to the visiting Penticton Vees. The Vipers are coming off back to back losses to the Penticton Vees in a home & home series last week/weekend. Tonight's the first game of a home & home series with the Silverbacks. The Vipers went 5-1 vs Salmon Arm last year. The Snakes have only played twice in the past nineteen days. The 1-3-0-0 Salmon Arm Silverbacks make there first pre-season visit to Kal Tire Place, are coming off a 3-2 loss at home Saturday to the visiting West Kelowna Warriors. The Silverbacks split the home & home series with a win in West Kelowna Friday. The Backs went 1-0-1-1 in Vernon during the 2019-20 regular season, only beat the Snakes once out of six regular season meetings. Salmon Arm is 1-1 on the road during the Okanagan Cup but 0-2 on home ice this season. The Silverbacks have six players returning from last years team. These two teams will meet again Saturday in Salmon Arm. The Silverbacks finished 3rd in the Interior division last season with a 30-23-4-1 regular season record swept the Victoria Grizzlies in the 1st round of the playoffs, before the season was cancelled.
