Silverbacks Trade Captain/Former Vipers Defenceman Seibel To Prince George:

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have traded captain & former Vernon Vipers defenceman Sol Seibel to the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Seibel spent last season with the Silverbacks, his first and only season in Salmon Arm. Seibel had thirteen assists in 43 games last season.

Seibel played parts of two seasons in Vernon (2016-2018) playing in 77 games with the Vipers collecting (1-goal-12-assists-13-points). The Vipers traded Seibel and future considerations to the Alberta Junior Hockey League Bonnyville Pontiacs for forward Derek Brown January 8th 2018. Seibel never played a game with Bonnyville was traded to Salmon Arm January 10th 2018.

Silverbacks Move Seibel to Spruce Kings for Futures

Salmon Arm, B.C. — The Salmon Arm Silverbacks have traded 1999-born defenceman Sol Seibel to the Prince George Spruce Kings in exchange for future considerations.

Seibel served as team captain last season and posted 13 points and 72 penalty minutes in 43 regular season games. He added an assist in five playoff games.

“Obviously this was a tough decision. We really think highly of Sol: he’s got high-end character and is a really good kid,” Silverbacks head coach and general manager Scott Atkinson said. “We just think he’s not going to get the opportunity here that he deserves to try to get that scholarship because the recruiting has gone very well. We feel this is in everyone’s best interest.”

The Silverbacks would like to thank Seibel for his service and dedication to the team and wish him well with the Spruce Kings organization.

Spruce Kings Make Two Moves

The Prince George Spruce Kings have made a pair of moves today, acquiring defenseman Sol Seibel (99) from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in exchange for future considerations, and moving Sean Donaldson (01) to the Nanaimo Clippers in exchange for future considerations.

In Seibel, the Spruce Kings are getting a defenseman with 135 games of BCHL experience, and last years Silverbacks Captain. The 20 year old has spent time with Vernon and Salmon Arm in his BCHL career, scoring 2 goals and adding 31 assists.

Spruce Kings GM Mike Hawes: “Sol is a veteran BCHL Dman who plays the game the right way. He’s a good person and teammate whose leadership abilities will be a great fit with our team”
