Heavyweight Tilt – Fuller Scraps Werenka

Heavyweight Tilt – Fuller Scraps Werenka – Make no question about it…we enjoy a good scrap in hockey! This tilt during a BCHL playoff game between the Vernon Vipers and Salmon Arm Silverbacks was a DANDY! Two big defencemen dropped the mitts and started tossing bombs.

Viper blueliner Landon Fuller stands nearly 6-foot-6 and weighs in at 225 lbs while Silverbacks d-man Olson Werenka is 6-foot-2 and 220 lbs! Depending on which team you cheer for you could make a case that either one of them won that battle….but we’ll give Fuller the split-decision.

The crowd loved it and the scrap gave the Vipers a bit of a boost to tie the game at 1-all moments later and ultimately won the game 2-1 in overtime.  Game three goes Monday night in Salmon Arm.

Werenka fought with a broken thumb, if you watch game video you can see him take his splint off after his gloves. Pretty balsy move
