I watched tonight's game on my computer. This was by far the Vipers best game of the season. The Vipers looked good, played well and much better than previous games. I thought Vernon had lots of jump/energy, were blocking lots of shots, winning races for pucks, battles along the wall and finally able to create/generate some offence and score some goals, something they have struggled with this season. I know its early but tonight was kind of a must win! These players are kids/young men and several playing away from home for the first time. You would hate to see them start the season 0-4 with another tough game next weekend vs Salmon Arm, a team that has already beat them twice this year. Tonight was not only the first win of the season but a big win for team bonding and a huge confidence booster.

On another note, Julian Facchinelli left the game in the 3rd period after taking a high hit. Facchinelli was very woozy and could barely stand up leaving the ice. The game was called late in the hockey game after Will Blackburn suffered an injury and was left lying on the ice on a stretcher well after the game was called, waiting for an ambulance. The Vipers were already without Griffen Barr (suspended) and Revy Mack (listed on Injured Reserve).

Let's hope both young men/Vipers are ok.

Blackburn was assessed at the hospital and had a Cat scan which came back negative and he departed PG for home with the team
