The Vernon Vipers started the 2001-02 season playing it's first ten games on the road before returning home to open the new arena. Vernon Vipers forward Chad Clower scored the games first goal in the new arena, while Vernon Vipers forward Mark Nelson scored the overtime winner as Vernon defeated the expansion Salmon Arm Silverbacks 3-2 in overtime in front of a capacity crowd of 3,506.
On March 7th 2008 the Vernon Multiplex changed names to the Wesbild Centre before changing names to Kal Tire Place in June 2013.
