Grizzlies Add Former Vipers Defenceman Robertson To Training Camp Roster:

The East Coast Hockey League Utah Grizzlies have added former Vernon Vipers defenceman Sean Robertson to their Training Camp roster.

Robertson played In 11 games with Merrimack College during the 2012-13 season before leaving for the University of Guelph. Robertson spent his first six seasons playing for the Victoria Grizzlies before being traded to Vernon in his final year of Junior hockey. On December 12th 2011 the Vipers traded Zach McPhee and future considerations to Victoria for Robertson.  In 31 games with the Vipers Robertson collected (0-goals-4-assists-4-points).

Grizzlies Add 8 Rookies For Training Camp

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced today eight ECHL rookies that will be joining the team for training camp.

“We will have a lot of new faces this year and I'm excited about it,” said Branham. “These guys all bring a mix of speed and work ethic.”

Forward: Carlos Amestoy: 8 goals and 13 assists for 21 points in 18 games at University of Guelph during senior season.

Defenseman: Billy Eiserman: Played last three seasons at Bentley University. Cousin Ed Hill played for Grizzlies in 2005-2006.

Forward: Daniel Gentzler: Seven games with Elmira of ECHL and 48 games with Macon of SPHL last year after four years of college at Colgate University.

Defense: Travis Howe: 199 penalty minutes last year with Mississippi and Macon of SPHL.

Forward: Colin Martin: Played four years of college hockey at St. Thomas University after four years of major junior hockey for the OHL’s London Knights.

Forward: Mark Meads: Played one game with Manchester of ECHL after three years of college hockey at St. Anselm College and one year at Bentley University.

Defense: Taylor Richart: Played four seasons of college hockey at Miami University (Ohio) and led them with 61 blocked shots last year.

Defense: Sean Robertson: Finished college career with three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 24 games after previously playing at Merrimack College.

The Grizzlies open the 2016-2017 season Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15 against Idaho at Maverik Center.
