  1. This a year that we can truly judge Jason McKee. He has no players left from other coaches, few COVID concerns nor does he have the "Jack Glen factor" where his hands were tied on roster. I think it is reasonable to expect more consistency and a better result than from previous years. It is time to return to being an elite Junior team and give Penticton a run for their money. This year should tell if McKee is a good coach/GM or just an average one. He certainly has a lot of recruits coming in with big promise but the jury is still out if he can form a good team with these players. If the Vipers are as inconsistent as in previous years or if the prized recruits are sent packing I think the loyal Vipers fans will start getting restless. It is time for the McKee/Glen era to kick it up a notch.

Third worst for the franchise since the 1983-84 season.
Behind only Joe Oliver, 40W% and Jason Williamson, 48.2W%

  4. Yes Paul, the numbers don't lie do they? It is especially disappointing that the Vipers used to be one of the premier Junior teams in the BCHL and ranked consistently high in overall Canada rankings. Under the previous ownership not only did we have good coaching but our recruiting was exceptional, elite players lined up to come to Vernon. Now Penticton is the desirable location and the Vee's record proves it. I admit that we were spoiled and that is why it is frustrating now. As I said it is time for the McKee/Glen era to kick it up a notch". Inconsistency and mediocrity is not good enough, quit talking and start showing.

    1. Nah, it’s time for them to sell the team altogether. And get rid of the horrendous off-ice staff that haven’t improved in 15 years. Not sure there’s a staff member who has gotten better from one year to the next. The amazing volunteers can stay!
