  1. Alright everyone.....the main event starts tonight! Make your predictions if you dare! I called a sweep this weekend with Warriors taking both games.
Who is going to be watching tonight? I got HockeyTV for the season, its not great but it's good enough to watch the Warriors beat up the Vipers. Bwahaha!
Come on Viper fans......support your team and make some noise here....can't do it anywhere else at the moment....might as well join me in being obnoxious on here and discuss some hockey!
    Go Warriors Go!

  2. Some Vernon fans have been complaining about the lack of scoring on the team this season. While they did score a few more goals against Salmon Arm last weekend, there is still the possibility they could even be better. There are a few players on the Vipers' Reserve roster who haven't played yet this season.

Seventeen year old Logan Lorenz lead his team last season with 78 points in 33 games. Yes, he's small, but he's had a year to put on some weight. Add twenty year olds Jordan Tonelli, who was captain of USHL Cedar Rapids last season, and Ryley Appelt from the WHL and there's a forward line that might score some goals.

Video of Lorenz from last season is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HETAX_7i8Zg
He has a lot of skill. Number 14 in the video.

As a bonus, Lorenz's teammate Ethan Mercer is shown sniping in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a9Xv66x7Ns

  3. The Kelowna Rockets have agreed to allow their two netminders, Roman Basran and Cole Schewbius to tend goal for the Warriors this weekend on an emergency basis.

  4. Thanks for the links to those videos Bob!

On a side note....I was going to mention about the Warriors goalie situation but it looks like DieHard beat me to the punch.

As much as I think this will be an advantage for the Warriors....I hope it doesn't taint the win with an asterix beside it. I don't want any excuses or whining from the Vipers fans when they lose both games and need something to blame.

I worry the WKW will rely too much on their goaltending these games and not bring their A games.

    Victory is gonna be sweet!

  5. Well, Uncle Ben, it is not fair and there will certainly be an asteroid, like it or not. It is unprecedented as teams have always had to use a junior B AP player in the past. Any Major Junior goalies must be signed to a card and could never be “borrowed” even if both teams agreed. It is unfortunate that the Warriors do not have a healthy goalie but it is hardly fair for any opponent. I am sure you would feel the same if the skate was on the other foot. Maybe the Vipers should “borrow” a few Rockets to replace their injured skaters.

  9. @ anonymous

Well done on the asterix! Lol!

Normally I would agree with you, especially since I said this was gonna happen....but not tonight. Vipers blew a 3-1 lead....there is no excuse for that. Roman Basran played very well and kept the Warriors in it no doubt, but it was Vernon's game to lose and they did. (Just as predicted Lol!)

As I also mentioned, it appeared Warriors rested on their laurels tonight relying on Basran to make the saves.

I believe we will see a different WKW team tomorrow and the score won't be as close. Especially because they are playing in their own barn.

THe cards are shaping up nicely for my prediction so far. WooHoo!
    Go Warriors Go!
    Cheers,
    Uncle Ben
