Former Vernon Viper Porter Jr Joins Wild:

Former Vernon Vipers goaltender James Porter Jr is one of at least eight players from the Western Hockey League that will join the Wenatchee Wild in Idaho for scrimmages this week.

On October 16th 2020, the Wenatchee Wild announced due to COVID-19 the team will be travelling to Coeur d'Alene, ID. Alongside the Wild team will be 10-16 Western Hockey League players joining the Wild camp on a limited basis to participate in scrimmages.

Porter Jr is entering his second season with the Western Hockey League Spokane Chiefs. In 10 games last year with the Chiefs, Porter Jr went 8-2 with a 1.94 GAA. 

Porter Jr started last season with the Western Hockey League Kelowna Rockets before being reassigned to the Vernon Vipers November 4th 2019. Porter Jr played nine games with the Vipers, going 3-6 with a 2.59 GAA before the Rockets traded his rights to the Western Hockey League Moose Jaw Warriors November 24th 2019. Porter Jr never played a game with the Warriors, left the Vipers after Moose Jaw traded his rights to Spokane January 3rd 2020.
