A big thank you for the info on roster. Sounds good. And look forward to whatever season we have. Thank you Jason for the info. Ok, NEGATIVE PEOPLE YOU CAN NOW BEGIN. HAVE A NICE DAY.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the roster. Looks like a young team. Any rumors on trades to get older players?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know what happened to Jarrod Semchuk?
ReplyDeleteThe Vipers acquired the CJHL playing rights to Jarrod Semchuk from the Alberta Junior Hockey League Bonnyville Pontiacs for future considerations on July 2 2020

Thanks to the BC Hockey League for posting the Vipers 2020-21 roster. When the Vipers were announcing new committed players over the summer, the team should have let the fans know who was returning or at least given us a list of a possible list of players that may return. The Vipers have 31 players on there roster. The league limit is 23. That means eight players on this list have to go. Who will they be?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the Snakes have eleven players returning from last season.

Kjell Kjemhus is listed on the Vipers roster, played ten games with the Vipers during the 2018-19 season before leaving for the Western Hockey League.

Two players were acquired over the summer
Ryley Appelt
Jeremy Rainville
Reagan Milburn & Kobe Grant were affiliated players with the Vipers last year
If you look at the players returning from last season, new recruits/committed players & the players acquired over the summer that puts the Vipers roster at 25 players, two players over the league limit. What two players from the above list won't make the team? Does that mean the six remaining players who aren't returning or weren't recruited will be cut/released? Or will we see some changes with this roster sooner then later?
The Vipers look to have made six cuts. Yesterday the roster had 31 players, today they are down to 25 players. The league limit is 23 players. Reilly Herbst is no longer listed on the roster.
ReplyDeleteSo it looks like the Vipers are going with a very inexperienced team not even having one returning goalie. They must view this year as just an exhibition year and are preparing for next season. Wonder how many years they will give the head coach?
ReplyDeleteSo they cut Herbst, our only experienced goalie, and get nothing of value for him? I don't understand what they are doing there. Shouldn't the coach or GM have a live radio show or meet the fans at A&W or Boston Pizza to answer for this team they are putting together. It does not seem like there is a plan. Does anyone see it differently?
ReplyDeleteHerbst was drafted in July in the 3rd round, 62nd overall by Jamestown at the North American Hockey League 2020 Entry Draft.
ReplyDeleteThere always are some 20 year old goalies from the WHL who come available late in training camp. The Vipers have lots of room for a 20 year old and I think only one of the two young goalies will stay.
ReplyDeleteHerbst doesn't have a scholarship and has an early birthday, meaning that he'll have to be enrolled in at least 3 transferable classes this year. Coming across the border late and quarantining would make that tough in Vernon. Not to mention the better exposure he'll get with an American team.
New subject: Kjell Kjemus. What's the over/under on how long he stays. He's still only 19 and could leave for the WHL (again) at any time. I can see a contending WHL team wanting an experienced 3rd or 4th liner later in the season. That WHL scholarship money is gold.
I heard that he tried multiple times to cross the border in his vehicle but was denied entry. Not sure why he couldn't fly in. Was Daniel Rozsival cut?
