Vipers Celebrate 25th Anniversary:

The Vernon Vipers enter the 2019-20 season celebrating their 25th anniversary as the "Vipers"

Junior Hockey started in Vernon in 1961 as the Vernon Jr. Canadians and went on to having several different team names over the years, from the Blades, Essos, Vikings, Rockets, Lakers and Vipers. The Vipers have had the name the longest out of any of the previous six Junior hockey teams in Vernon, going on twenty five years. In the mid 90's the Vernon Lakers changed there name to the Vipers in 1995 and continued to use the same name over the last twenty five years. With several different jersey's, colors and alternate logo's the name "Vipers" and the Vipers main logo have been the same since 1995. For fans who don't know, in behind the Snake on the Vipers logo, is the Okanagan sun along with two V's that stand for "Vernon Vipers" and of course the two hockey sticks.
