The 0-0-0-0 Defending Interior Division Champion Vernon Vipers make their first of three regular season visits to Royal LePage Place. The Vipers are coming off a 3-2 overtime pre-season victory over the visiting Alberta Junior Hockey League Brooks Bandits Sunday afternoon. Vernon went 3-0 in West Kelowna last season. The Vipers finished the pre-season with a 2-2 record with wins over Salmon Arm & Brooks. The Vipers finished 4th in the Interior Division last season, lost in five games to the Prince George Spruce Kings in the BCHL Finals. The Snakes enter this season with a new Head Coach/GM and two new assistant coaches. Gone are Mark Ferner and Kevin Kraus, In is Jason McKee, Larry Draper (returning from last season) & Eric Morrissette. The Vipers have eleven players back from last years team. The six time National Champions open the 2019-20 regular season with a three game road trip. After tonight the Snakes will travel to Wenatchee to face the Wild in back to back games in the United States next weekend. Vernon's home opener isn't until the 20th vs the Victoria Grizzlies. Nineteen of Vernon's first twenty five games are on the road. The Snakes went 14-10-3-1 away from home last year.

The 0-0-0-0 West Kelowna Warriors are coming off a 3-1 exhibition loss to the visiting Trail Smoke Eaters Saturday night. The Warriors finished the pre-season with a 2-4 record with wins over Trail & Salmon Arm. The Tribe finished 6th in the Interior Division at 28-28-1-1 lost in the opening round to the Wenatchee Wild. Head Coach/GM Brandon West returns for a second season after joining the team behind the bench late in the 2018-19 season. West Kelowna has five players back from last years team. The Warriors lost five out of the six regular season meetings vs Vernon last year. Tonight is the first of back to back home games, who will host the Wenatchee Wild tomorrow night before hitting the road for a two game road trip. The Warriors play six of their first ten games on home ice.
