Former Vernon Vipers "AP" affiliated forward Dante Hannoun has been named the Western Hockey League's Player of the Week.
Hannoun is the younger brother of former Vernon Vipers forward Demico Hannoun (2013-14) spent the past five seasons with the Victoria Royals before being traded to Prince Albert January 3rd 2019. In 56 games this year with the Royals & Raiders Hannoun collected (29-goals-38-assists-67-points).
Hannoun played one game as an "AP" (affiliated player) with the Vipers during the 2013-14 season.

Raiders’ Hannoun named WHL On the Run Player of the Week

Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Prince Albert Raiders forward Dante Hannoun has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending April 14, 2019.
Hannoun recorded seven points (6G-1A) and carried a plus-three rating in four contests as the Raiders defeated the Saskatoon Blades in the second round of WHL Playoffs to advance to the Eastern Conference Championship.
On Wednesday, Hannoun led his team as the lone goal scorer against the Blades. Opening the game with a short-handed marker, Hannoun was the only Raider to get one past Saskatoon. On Friday Hannoun was first on the scoreboard again when he recorded Prince Albert’s first goal on the power play as well as their fifth goal at even strength. Hannoun also aided on the Raiders’ third goal of the night, picking up one assist, finishing the game with three points (2G-1A), the second star of the game and the second star of the night in the WHL.
Sealing the second-round series win for the Raiders, Hannoun again collected three points against the Blades, on Sunday. In a 6-3 final, he scored Prince Albert’s second, fourth and sixth goals of the night, bumping Hannoun into a tie for first place in overall scoring among WHL skaters in the 2019 WHL Playoffs. For his efforts, Hannoun was also awarded the first star of the night in the WHL.
The 5-foot-6, 160-pound centreman has 14 points (9G-5A) in the 2019 WHL Playoffs. In 42 career WHL Playoff games, Hannoun has 37 points (17G-20A).
After being acquired from the Victoria Royals, Hannoun was a strong contributor to the Raiders’ success during their campaign, recording 31 points (10G-21A) in 28 games, including two power-play goals and one game-winning goal.
The Delta, B.C. product was selected by Victoria Royals 11th overall in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. In 314 career WHL regular season games, Hannoun has 279 points (108G-171A), including 37 power-play goals, one short-handed goal and 16 game-winning goals.
With home-ice advantage, Hannoun and the Raiders will challenge the Edmonton Oil Kings at the Art Hauser Centre for Games 1 and 2 of the WHL’s Eastern Conference Championship beginning on Friday, April 19 (7:00 p.m. MT).
