Bobcats Move Three Players Ahead of Regular Season

September 9th, 2015

With the first roster cut down date of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) season looming, the Lloydminster Bobcats have traded three players.

Third-year forward Patrick Geary has been moved to the Cowichan Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in exchange for ’96 forward MacKenzie Bauer. The 20 year-old Geary registered 30 goals and 26 assists for 56 points in 92 games for the Bobcats over the past two seasons. Bauer made his BCHL debut last season with the Vernon Vipers, tallying five goals and four assists for nine points over 27 games.

Returning goaltender Ryan Ternes has been traded to the Calgary Mustangs in exchange for the rights to ’97 forward Adam Berg and future considerations. Serving primarily as a backup last season for the Bobcats, the ’97 born goaltender appeared in 14 games with a record of seven wins, three losses, and one tie. Berg split last season between the Mustangs and the Western Hockey League’s Regina Pats. In 49 games with the Mustangs, Berg scored 16 goals and 20 assists for 36 points in his 17 year-old season.

Returning defenceman Allan MacPherson has been traded to the Calgary Canucks in exchange for future considerations. The Bobcats were able to satisfy MacPherson’s request to be moved to his hometown where he will be able to begin his schooling while continuing to play junior hockey. The ’96-born defenceman registered six assists in 13 games for the Bobcats last season after being acquired from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s La Ronge Ice Wolves on December 1st, 2014.

The Bobcats would like to thank Patrick, Ryan, and Allan as well as their families for all their contributions to the organization since joining the Bobcats, and wish each of them all the best in their future.
