Former Vipers Forward Hunt Named SJHL Player Of The Week:

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has named former Vernon Vipers forward Riley Hunt the SJHL Player of the Week.  Hunt is in his second season with the defending Royal Bank Cup Champion Yorkton Terriers. 

Hunt played last season with three different teams.  Hunt started his first full season with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (2013-14) before being sent down to the KIJHL on December 2nd 2013 where he played with the Summerland Steam but was an "AP" with the SilverBacks.  In 18 games with Salmon Arm last season Hunt picked up just two assists.  In 12 games with the Steam Hunt collected (5-goals-8-assists-13-points).  On January 9th 2014 Hunt signed with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) Yorkton Terriers.  In ten games last season with the Terriers Hunt recorded (4-goals-6-assists-10-points) winning the 2014 RBC Cup.  Hunt was recruited by the Vipers and played his first full season in Vernon (2010-11) before being traded to Salmon Arm during his second season with the Vipers. Hunt was traded to the Silverbacks on September 25th 2012 for future considerations. In 53 games with the Vipers Hunt collected (1-goal-5-assists-6-points).

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Riley Hunt, Yorkton Terriers

1995 F Riley Hunt (Revelstoke BC) had a huge week, punctuated with a 2-goal and 4-assist performance on Tuesday night against the Estevan Bruins.  Hunt also scored a goal in Monday’s loss to Notre Dame and picked up three assists on Friday night in the first game of a two game sweep over Melville.  Yorkton’s leading scorer now has 14-goals and 21-assists in 47-games.
