Fred Page Cup (BCHL Finals) Game 3 Preview: Powell River (8-7) @ Vernon (10-4)

Tonight is Game 3 of the Fred Page Cup-BCHL Finals as the Interior Conference Champion-defending Royal Bank Cup Champion Vernon Vipers host the Coastal Conference Champion Powell River Kings in Game. Both these teams are meeting in the Fred Page Cup for the third straight season, with the Vipers winning the past two years in six and seven games. This is the fourth playoff matchup between Vernon and Powell River in team history. The Vipers are coming off back to back wins in Games 1 & 2 to lead the series 2-0. -Tonight is a very key-crucial game for both teams. A win by the Vipers and they take a comanding 3-0 series lead. A loss and the Powell River Kings are right back in the series

-The Vipers who now have home ice advantage, must use this to their advantage

-Vernon has the 12th best powerplay in the playoffs

-The Vipers have to keep things simple, and play a full 60 minutes in a game where they know the Kings will be emptying the tanks

-The Vipers have the 6th best penalty kill during the post season

-Dylan Walchuk (9-5-14) & Patrick McGillis (5-9-14) are both in the playoffs top twenty scoring leaders

-Kirby Halcrow (9-3 Record, 2.18 GAA) is ranked 2nd amongst playoff goaltenders
