  1. I think this is a good trade just before christmas. Maro has size and strength as well as a proven goal scorer. I wish him success in his new adventure with the vernon vipers. go,vipers,go.

  2. Wow more moves! I liked Chiovetti. hmmmm With all these moves the boys can't gel. Cooke's gotta try and better the team, so guessing that's why all the trades

  3. Sure has been lots of trades/roster moves this year, seems a lot like last season. The only difference is last season, players were wanting out and not wanting to play here, so the turnover was high. This season I think the team has played fairly well and is a better team then their record but the team isn't winning, so Matt Cooke and the Vipers are making changes to try and improve the team.

I liked Munroe and Chiovetti. I thought Munroe was one of the better Vipers at training camp and was one of the better players to start the regular season. Munroe played with a ton of jump/energy every night, was involved in the scoring early into the regular season but then cooled off and now hasn't been anywhere nearly as noticeable. Munroe was fifth in team scoring.

I thought Chiovetti played hard on most nights, brought some upside and offence, had some speed, but some nights you didn't notice him. Trading away your second leading point guy is difficult.

The Vipers definitely need scoring, so is Christian Maro the guy? Maro has put up some good numbers before junior hockey and at the junior hockey level but I question a couple of things. If Maro is that good, why did Coquitlam trade him? and if you read the Coquitlam Express press release, Express General Manager Tali Campbell says "I also want to wish Christian the very best moving forward. From day one, we’ve been clear about the type of people we want in our dressing room: team-first players who love coming to the rink and are committed to pushing each other to be better. Our slogan is simple—you either buy in, or you don’t—and our group has fully embraced that standard.” Is this regarded towards Maro?
