Vernon-Langley Trade:

The Langley Rivermen have traded 19 year old forward Liam Payne to

the Vernon Vipers for future considerations.

Payne split the 2024-25 season with the North American Hockey League Watertown Shamrocks, Alberta Junior Hockey League Camrose Kodiaks and the BCHL Langley Rivermen.

Payne committed to the Vernon Vipers April 11th 2023 for the 2023-24 season. Payne played in four exhibition games (1-goal-2-assists-3-points) was released October 8th 2023 before the start of the 2023-24 regular season.

  1. I think this trade is at least something. I don't think the Vipers gave Liam a chance when he was here before. The Vipers have to take what they can get and build on players because who knows how many players we actually have. It's to late to recruit so I think the Vipers are going to have to go out and acquire players through trades, to build up a roster in time for the season

  2. I don't remember Liam Payne when he attended the Vipers training camp a couple of years ago. He's not that big and didn't put up many points with Langley but did record 19 pts in 18 games with the Camrose Kodiaks last season. The Vipers have yet to announce any committed players or players they have signed over the summer, so nobody really knows how many players the Vipers actually have heading into training camp. I'm curious to know how many players the Vipers have heading into training camp and if so who?

    Thanks to the Langley Rivermen for posting the trade. This is the third trade this summer and the Vipers haven't said anything. I'd like to know why fans are left in the dark when it comes to getting news regarding the team?

    With the the new coaching staff and new video scoreboard, I'm really excited for the upcoming season.
