The 0-1-0-0 Vernon Vipers make their first and only preseason visit to the South Okanagan Events Centre are coming off a 4-0 loss Friday to the visiting West Kelowna Warriors. Tonight's the first game of a two game road trip and the only two preseason road games for the Vipers. The Snakes finished 4th in the Interior Conference last season with a 33-19-2-0 record. Vernon lost to Penticton in the second round of the playoffs in five games. Vernon went 1-4-0-0 vs the Vees last regular season, were 0-3 in Penticton. Tonight's the only preseason meeting vs the Vees but these two teams will face each other six times during the regular season. The Snakes have twelve players back from the 2023-24 season. The Vipers next exhibition game is Tuesday in Salmon Arm. Vernon will open the regular season September 20th in Trail.

The 0-1-0-0 defending Interior Division Champion Penticton Vees are coming off a 7-4 loss last night in Trail. Tonight's the first of two preseason home games for the Vees. Penticton has four exhibition games vs Trail, Salmon Arm, Vernon & West Kelowna before opening the 2024-25 regular season in Spruce Grove September 20th. The Vees went 4-1-0-0 vs the Vipers during the 2023-24 regular season and eliminated Vernon in five games in the second round of the BCHL playoffs last season. Penticton has eleven players returning from last season, lost in the Fred Page Cup Finals to the Surrey Eagles. The Vees next game is Friday in West Kelowna.
