I like this move and staying within the organization. I had a feeling ownership/management would name either Lomicky or Sparrow Head Coach. I thought both Sparrow and Lomicky did a great job with the situation and what they were delt with so late in the 2023-24 season after the Vipers parted ways with Jason McKee. The Vipers went 7-2-1-0 in their final ten regular season games with Sparrow/Lomicky behind the bench. I have been wondering when the Vipers were going to make a coaching announcement. I heard the kids really enjoyed playing for Sparrow/Lomicky and it showed on the ice. I'm looking forward to a new season with a clean slate and no McKee behind the bench. Lets see how the Vipers do this coming season with a new Head Coach.
ReplyDeleteExcellent, I agree that this is a good decision. These two were popular with the players and their positive approach showed in the record under their leadership. It will be interesting who they add to their staff to round out the coaching group. The only stumbling block may be the constant interference by the "super recruiter/owner". Time will tell.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lukas and Colton, you have a lot of fans supporting you. Go Vipers Go!!!
I wonder if anyone else was interviewed or even considered for the Head Coaching job. With these changes I wonder if John Glenn has any involvement in the hockey decisions because I heard Todd Miller is the GM now. Anyway Lukas and Colton definitely brought some stability to the team when they took over late last season. Did anyone hear that Mark Ferner is now Coaching for the Los Angeles JR Kings U16AAA team .
ReplyDeleteWhere did you hear that Todd Miller is now GM? He’s not.
DeleteI talked to one of the parents at the Vipers Spring Camp back in April and they told me they talked with the owner/Tom Glen and he said the Vipers had a ton of resumes coming in.
