I watched the Vipers game on my computer this evening. The Smoke Eaters were by far the better team and it showed in all three periods. Trail come ready to play, competed, had more puck possession, zone time, shots on goal, more chances/opportunities, won a ton of faceoffs, capitalized on their chances and played very well in a big win. The Vipers were outplayed and outworked most of the hockey game. The Snakes were heavily outshot and out chanced. Vernon with lots of turnovers and mistakes didn't look good. The Vipers 2nd period struggles continue and being heavily outshot is almost the norm this season. The Vipers got lucky and won Friday in Merritt but blew a 4-0 lead didn't play well this weekend in two big games. Trail is 4-1 vs the Vipers.
Tonight was a huge game in the standings and the Vipers blew it. Vernon was two points behind Salmon Arm for 3rd place and three points ahead of Trail for 4th place. A Silverbacks win moves Salmon Arm four points ahead of Vernon and tonight's Smokies win, moves Trail to within a point of the Vipers. If the playoffs started today, the Vipers & Smoke Eaters would meet in the opening round.
Jason McKee was not behind the Vipers bench for a fourth straight game and the rumors continue and still no official word from the Vipers on what happened to their Head Coach/GM
I'm very disappointed with the Vipers effort/loss tonight. The Vipers have been inconsistent since November and haven't improved as the season winds down.
DISCIPLINE, What BS, WHAT DISCIPLINE?? There was none. Seriously Vipers. It will not be long before your in fifth spot and if you continue to play this way it will be a short run in the playoffs and I guess will see you next year. What a BS performance tonight. shame, shame.
Even the Vipers game announcer was lack-luster to say the least, no emotion and called the game like he was reading a prewritten script, awful very awful, so, bad had to switch to the Smokies feed.
Graham is awful, I don’t know what’s surprising about this. After doing something for 10 plus years shouldn’t you like… improve at it? Would say he’s one of the worst in the league but there are some BAAAADDDD play by play guys in the BCHL, maybe 5 worth listening to but probably more like 3
Graham Turnbull is a fantastic broadcaster, and Vernon fans are lucky to have him. He's also a great person, which is more than can be said for those that are anonymously trashing him.

DeleteGraham is exceptional. Anyone with half a clue knows that much.
DeletePlayers probably read on here that McKee was going to be back. That would be enough to make me depressed and unfocused...
