  1. I watched the Vipers/Smokies game this evening on my computer. The Smoke Eaters were the better team. The Vipers didn't look good or play well for most of the hockey game. Vernon did push back in the 3rd but were already down 4-1 at that point. The Vipers took some undisciplined penalties, gave up two shorthanded goals and lost to a 500 hockey team. Prior to tonight Trail had lost three straight and seven of their last ten games. The Snakes haven't played well or close to sixty minutes in their last seven to eight games and aren't the same team that started the season 7-1 Things don't get any easier as the Vipers play West Kelowna & Salmon Arm next. Vernon plays three games in five days. Trail has Vernon's number are 2-0 vs the Vipers this season.

  2. Still a few key players missing with Facchinelli and Cleaves. Does anyone know if either will be back this season? They are both leaving gaps in the team that are hard to fill.

  3. Both are supposed to be back after the Xmas break is what I have heard

  4. We as a team need a rhythm for winning games meaning being consistent, not like the vancouver canucks who at best are a 500 team with win a game lose a game style of play.

  5. Well we are under 500 against the big 3 and now the other divisional rivals are playing much better. In my opinion we'll never be close until there is a change behind the bench. Can the Vipers be better? Of course they can cause they proved it by beating the Vees, but something is obviously wrong with the message.

  6. “A grumpy old man” says you are 100% right. Although the Vipers have had more success this year they are very inconsistent and don’t seem to be able to play hard for a full 60 minutes. They are out shot regularly and lose more puck battles than they win. Injuries to regular players have hurt them but that does not excuse the others from competing hard. It will be nice to see Cleaves & Facchinelli back but let’s be honest, neither of them will put the Vipers on their back and make the team play better. Trail may not have the star power of Vernon but they play very hard for their coach and their teammates. They proved this last night. I also feel we are long overdue for a change behind the Vernon bench. The Vipers are simply not playing playing for this guy.
