I sure hope the Vipers put together a much better and more competitive team compared to the previous four or five seasons. The past few years the Vipers have been average or below average at best sitting in and around the 500 mark in the middle or below the middle of the standings. The Vipers recruiting hasn't been great the past few seasons, with several committed players either released before the season starts or traded early into the season. Coaching has also been a big issue and the Vipers are often out coached on most nights. It will be very interesting to see what the 2023-24 Vipers look like this coming season and how well they will do and how well they can compete with the top teams in the division/league.
With Kal Tire Place being used as an evacuation centre from the forest fires, will the Vipers' training camp still go ahead September 1? And will the pre-season game against Trail go ahead as scheduled September 3?
I am looking forward to I hope a strong defensive team this year which should help the new players with strong offensive skills. Years ago we had coaches that held to that concept and where able to win games and tournaments. I also hope to see a strong team first approach this year as you can have all the offensively skilled players in the world but if you don't work as a team you usually fall flat on your face. GO,VIPERS,GO.
