Brynas IF Signs Former Viper Defenceman Genoway:

Brynas IF has signed former Vernon Vipers defenceman Chay Genoway.

Brynas IF is a professional Swedish hockey team from Gavle, Sweden that plays in the Swedish Hockey League.

Genoway played last season in the KHL with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg. Genoway has played six of the past seven seasons in the KHL with six different teams.

Genoway played five seasons at the University of North Dakota from 2006-2011 before signing his first professional contract with the Minnesota Wild April 12th 2011. Genoway made his NHL/Wild debut April 7th 2012 had one assist, was named 2nd star in a 4-1 loss to the Pheonix Coyotes. Genoway played three seasons in the American Hockey League from 2011-2014 before heading to the KHL in 2014. 

Genoway won the Spengler Cup with Canada in 2016 also played for Canada at the Karjala Cup in 2017 the Canadian men's Olympic team in 2018.

Genoway played one season in Vernon with the 2005-06 Vernon Vipers. In 56 games with the Vipers, Genoway collected (17-goals-32-assists-49-points).
