Vipers Alumni Tambellini Named To Canada's Olympic Team:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Adam Tambellini has been named to Team

Canada's Olympic men's hockey team for the 2022 Olympics.

Tambellini won the 2019 Spengler Cup with Canada in 2019. Tambellini is in his second season with BK Rogle or also known as Rogle Bandyklubb a Swedish professional ice hockey team from Angelhol, Sweden. In 33 games this season, Tambellini has (18-goals-17-assists-35-points).

Tambellini played parts of one season at the University of North Dakota before leaving the University in January 2014 for the Western Hockey League. Tambellini joined the Calgary Hitmen January 8th 2014 after his playing rights were traded from the Portland Winterhawks to the Calgary Hitmen. Tambellini played parts of two seasons in Calgary with the Hitmen before signing his first professional contract with the New York Rangers March 10th 2015. 

Tambellini was drafted 64th overall by the New York Rangers at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Tambellini never played a single game with the Rangers.

Tambellini spent four seasons in the American Hockey League from 2015-2019 before going to Sweden in 2019. 

Tambellini is the son of former NHLer Steve Tambellini, who played in the NHL with New York Islanders, Colorado, New Jersey, Calgary & Vancouver winning two Stanley Cups with the New York Islanders. Steve Tambellini was also an Assistant General Manager with the Vancouver Canucks & General Manager with the Edmonton Oilers. Steve Tambellini is currently a scout with the Anaheim Ducks.

Adam Tambellini played parts of two seasons in Vernon between 2011-2013. The Vipers traded Tambellini & future considerations to the Surrey Eagles January 10th 2013 for Mason Blacklock & future considerations. In 91 games with the Vipers, Tambellini collected (49-goals-46-assists-95-points).

Tambellini scored the overtime winning goal October 1st 2011 in one of the Vernon Vipers biggest comebacks in recent history. The visiting Prince George Spruce Kings were leading 4-1 with 2:27 remaining in the 3rd period. The Vipers scored three goals in the final 2:27 to tie the game and force overtime. Tambellini scored the overtime winning goal, giving the Vipers a 5-4 overtime win.
