Wichita Thunder Give Former Vernon Laker Ramsay Contract Extension:

The ECHL Wichita Thunder have given former Vernon Lakers forward/captain

Bruce Ramsay a contract extension.

Ramsay is in his third season as Head Coach/GM with the Thunder. Ramsay was named the ECHL Coach of the Year last season. Ramsay and the Thunder currently sit 6th in the Mountain Division with a 10-13-1-0 record.

Ramsay played sixteen seasons of professional hockey before retiring in 2005. Ramsay has spent the past sixteen seasons coaching in the UHL, IHL, CHL, AHL & ECHL with four different teams (Muskegon, Tulsa, Grand Rapids and Wichita).

Ramsay played one season in Vernon with the 1989-90 Vernon Lakers. In 53 games with the Lakers, Ramsay collected (11-goals-11-assists-22-points). Ramsay was captain of the 1989-90 Vernon Lakers that hosted and won the 1990 Centennial Cup.
