Going by his stats he hasn't played a game since the 2019-20 season. For 17 he's got some size. But I'm going to wait until I see him play as I have to question the Vipers scouting and Jason McKee's recruits/committed players he's chosen last year and this year.
In all of my years watching Junior hockey in Vernon I haven't seen many recruits/committed players released during training camp or traded early into their first season. Jason McKee released or traded new recruits/committed players Daniel North, Greye Rampton, Daniel Roszsival, Nicholas Remissong, David Adaszynski, Ethan Mercer, Logan Lorenz, Desmond Johnson, & Jason Siedem. Jason McKee also acquired Jarrod Semchuk from Salmon Arm who didn't report and acquired the playing rights of Braden Smith from the Western Hockey League before trading him two months into the season.
If you look at the West Kelowna's, Salmon Arm's and Penticton's just to name the top three teams in the Interior Conference, the Vipers are being outrecruited by all three teams. The Vipers haven't been able to recruit or attract elite players it seems ever since Head Scout Larry Black left the team.
Max Seguin joins Ludovik Tardif as two players who have committed to the Vipers for the 2022-23 season.
You are 100% on your comment. It is surprising how many committed players have not remained in a Viper uniform for long. Word will get out quickly in the hockey world that a Vernon commitment means very little and will cost us in the long run. Talented recruits will just start signing with more reputable teams.
Also, its a funny rime of year to be announcing recruits for next year, at a time then "GM Mr Glen" has been rumored to be scouting out East. Does Coach/GM "in name only" have any input or any knowledge at all of this player? It is hard to be excited about news like this when the player may not even come or stay long.
Also committed for next year are Dylan Compton from Shawnigan Lake school where several other Vipers have come from. Also Ryden Evers and Ryder McIntosh from the Burnaby Winter Club U18 where they are each better than a point per game. To be fair about Adaszynski, the plan was for him to come here for a year but the kid went to the Calgary Hitmen camp and made the team and is still there as a 16 year old.
Not sure where your getting your “Commitment “ information ? None of the 3 players you mention are on the Bchl “New Recruit” listings, or on the Vipers website ? Perhaps you have “Inside Knowledge “ of Recruitment ??
