I'm a little disapointed in these retro jerseys. Sure some look good but I was thinking that most teams would have come out with a retro/replica jersey from one of their former teams/names from past seasons. For example, the Penticton Vees honoured the 986 Centennial Cup Champion Penticton Knights in the Vees home opener last weekend by wearing replica Knights jerseys. I think the Vees, Trail Smoke Eaters, Merritt Centennials, Langley Rivermen & Chilliwack Chiefs hit the nail on the head by unveiling retro jerseys that are basically replica jerseys from past teams/names. The Vees going with replica Vees jerseys from the 1950s, the Chiefs going with replica Chiefs jerseys other then a slight logo change from the early 1990s. Langley unveiled Langley Thunder jerseys from the mid 1990s but missed the boat by going with the Rivermen team colours instead of going with the original black & green colours. I would have thought Powell River would have unveiled Powell River Paper Kings jerseys, the Victoria Grizzlies unveiling Victoria Warriors or Salsa jerseys and I would have thought Vernon would have unveiled Vernon Essos or Lakers replica jerseys. Basically most of these retro jerseys aren't retro, their just another jersey used for a 3rd set jersey or alternate jersey. Its hard to get a good look at some of the teams retro jerseys from the video and would be nice to see some photos instead.
Vernon,Langley and Wenatchee are all terrible. No history in Wenatchee but Vernon, Come on Vipers this Jersey design is an absolute disgrace to Vernon Hockey history. You would think the Vipers brain trust could have looked back over the 60 year history and could have come up with a design that would make the City and the players proud.
I agree with all these comments, the Vernon jersey is especially horrible. If this was a replica of an original Vernon jersey it was so for back that I doubt anyone would remember it. A bit more imagination or creativity should have been used. It will be comical if they try to auction these off.
I don't think junior hockey is a money maker but if it does show a positive it would be very minimal compared with the size of the investment. I am sure the team is more of a tax write off and more importantly to have a team for the owner's offspring. In the long run it would be cheaper to just pay tuition since a scholarship is highly doubtful anyway. Regardless, only one more year to go. It is still great to be back to watch in person. Go Vipers Go!!!
If you owned a car dealership you might of thought what a great idea as it didn*t cost me very much but it got the idea across and who cares anyway the public gets it even if it looks cheap and without a lot of thought. Sad so sad and with so little respect for the past. sad.

Because they don't GAF about Vernon's hockey history and are in it to: make money; and provide young Jack a team to play for. In no particular order.
