Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg Part Ways With Ex Vipers Defenceman Genoway:

The KHL Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg have parted ways with former

Vernon Vipers defenceman Chay Genoway.

Genoway has spent the previous two seasons playing in the KHL with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg & Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod. In 58 games last year, Genoway collected (3-goals-22-assists-25-points).

After five years at the University of North Dakota (2006-2011) Genoway spent the next three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Houston Areos and Hershey Bears. The Minnesota Wild signed Genoway to an entry-level contract on April 12th 2011. Genoway made his NHL debut with the Wild April 7th 2012. Genoway had one assist and was named 2nd star in a 4-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes. Genoway has played the past seven years between the KHL & SHL. Genoway won the Spengler Cup with Canada in 2016 also played for Canada at the Karjala Cup in 2017 and played for Canada's Olympic mens hockey team in 2018.

Genoway played one season in Vernon with the 2005-06 Vernon Vipers. In 56 games with the Vipers, Genoway collected (17-goals-32-assists-49-points).
