  1. I had to work today so I missed the Vipers/Warriors game this afternoon but watched the game online after work tonight.

The Vipers got the early jump off the opening faceoff, had some looks and chances early into the opening frame, were outshooting West Kelowna 4-0. Just before the halfway mark the Warriors took over the edge in play and were the better team in the second half. The Tribe had a lot of zone time, puck on their sticks and some quality chances. The Vipers give up a late goal inside the final minute. WK continues to control the play and game into the 2nd period jump out to a 3-0 lead and basically put the game away. The Warriors outplayed the Snakes for most of the middle frame. The Vipers couldn't contain West Kelowna or get control of the puck to generate any offence. Vernon did get some puck possession, zone time and created some looks/opportunities but couldn't solve Johnny Derrick. The Tribe put the game away with an early goal into the 3rd to take a 4-0 lead. With the game out of reach both teams didn't really show much other then winding down the clock. Luke Pakulak broke Johnny Derrick's shutout with his first career BCHL goal at 16:39 At the buzzer Elan Bar-Lev-Wise jumps Kjell Kjemhus before the two through some punches and end up in a wrestling match before hitting the ice.

The Vipers were outplayed most of the afternoon and didn't have much of a response to the Warriors offensive side of the game. Vernon struggled to get control of the puck, had troubles getting any zone time and didn't muster a lot for offence. The Snakes played a lot of time in their own end and neutral zone had troubles containing West Kelowna's speed and skilled forwards. For a second time this Pod season the Vipers face the Warriors coming off playing the afternoon before while Vernon had the day prior off and in both games weren't sharp, outplayed and didn't look very good. Very disappointing. After starting the Pod season at 3-0 the Vipers fall to 3-2-1-0

I thought Trey Taylor was the lone Viper who stood out and played well this afternoon.

The Warriors coming off a tough 5-3 loss Sunday afternoon to Salmon Arm were the better of the two teams today. West Kelowna come ready to play and looked very good at both ends of the rink. The Tribes speed and skilled forwards gave Vernon trouble, while the Warriors defence and goaltending were solid. The Warriors did get most of the calls go their way this afternoon and get some puck luck and bounces also go their way, but at the end of the day West Kelowna fully deserved the victory. I liked the Warriors defensive coverage and former Viper AP Johnny Derrick wasn't busy but was solid when tested. I have noticed West Kelowna has been inconsistent this Pod season. With the win the Warriors improve to 3-2-1

Johnny Derrick, Carter Wilkie, Cameron Hicklin, Marcus Joughin, Porter Dawson, Tyson Jugnauth, Riley Sharun & Skyler Cameron looked good and played well for the Warriors.

I have said this before.... Watching the games online isn't the same as watching the games live. As a fan you don't get the same feel for the players and or game so it's not as easy to get the same read on a game watching it online compared to watching it live.

Even though these games may not mean much to the fans, these games are huge for the players and scouts/universities as well as coaches. These twenty games is like one long training camp and a good look for the coaches to watch these kids who will be returning next year.
