How nice was it to see the Vipers back in action? I know it's only exhibition games and we can't be at the games, but if your a big Vipers fan, just being able to see them play again was great to see.
ReplyDeleteI watched tonight's game on BCHL TV. It was great to see so many familiar faces in the stands (pictures of fans on cardboard cut outs)
I thought the Vipers played well considering this was their first game since mid November. The Vipers gave up an early goal just over two minutes into the contest but would score the next four goals. I thought Vernon had a slight edge in play at times and had a little more puck possession.
I thought James Porter Jr, Ryan Shostak & Luke Pakulak played well for the Snakes.
The Silverbacks looked and played their best in the 2nd period in a period they dominated but couldn't find the back of the net. Down 2-1 after the 1st period, Salmon Arm needed to capitalize on some opportunities in that middle frame. Instead they allow Vernon to score twice in the 3rd to put the game away. I thought the S'Backs had the better of the opportunities in tonight's game but couldn't solve James Porter Jr who was solid between the pipes for the hometown Snakes.
I thought Kieran Ruscheinski, Tucker Hartmann, Owen Say & Drew Bennett looked good for the Apes.
You don't get the same feel for the game or the players watching the games online compared to watching the games live.
Graham Turnbull said during the pregame show these games and stats will count towards records and players stats as if this was a regular season.
I don't understand some of the new rules. Nobody can touch the puck other then the goaltender or officials? If you lose your stick only the player of that stick can pick it up? Come on! That is ridiculous! The players now can't fly by the bench to high five the bench after a goal but can celebrate together in a close gathering? What's the difference? Welcome to the new COVID world!
The Silverbacks will now face the West Kelowna Warriors Saturday in Vernon while the Vipers next three games will be afternoon games.
