With the 2020-21 BCHL season in jeopardy I was a little surprised to see the Vipers sign Bafaro. Especially being a 20 yr old. Even if the season is a go, I guess it doesn't hurt to pick up a kid from the Western Hockey League because it didn't cost you anything to get him. If the league is allowed to play this year, the Vipers will need some players to fill some holes after Koen MacInnes, Ryley Appelt, Jordan Tonelli & Josh Prokop all left the team at some point in 2021. If the BCHL/Vipers can play this year, Bafaro will add experience from the Major Junior hockey level and adds a bit of local flavor to the team, being from Kamloops.
ReplyDeleteThe big question is will the Vipers get a chance to play this year? It looks like the Western Hockey League will begin play shortly except teams from BC.
This has been a very difficult time for junior hockey players, teams, owners and the fans. If the league is unable to play this year, what dies September look like? Will the league be able to start the 2021-22 season on time? How much more can these teams take before having to fold?
