Former Vipers Ferner & McPhee Join Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U15 Coaching Staff:

Former Vernon Vipers Head Coach/GM Mark Ferner & former Vernon Vipers

forward Zach McPhee are in their first season with the Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna U15 team. Ferner is Head Coach, while McPhee is Assistant Coach.

Ferner spent nine seasons with the Vernon Vipers as Head Coach, General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations from 2007-2011 & 2014-2019. Ferner joined the Vipers in 2007 after three seasons with the Western Hockey League Kamloops Blazers. After four years with the Vipers Ferner left Vernon in 2011 for the Western Hockey League Everett Silvertips. After being let go in Everett, Ferner returned to Vernon in 2014 before his contract ended in 2019. Ferner spent the 2019-20 season as scout with the Buffalo Sabres before being fired after one season.

McPhee started the 2010-11 season with the Western Hockey League Tri-City Americans before being assigned to the Vipers November 18th 2010. McPhee played parts of one season in Vernon (2010-11) before leaving the Vipers for the Western Hockey League Everett Silvertips. The Vipers traded McPhee's playing rights & future considerations to the Victoria Grizzlies December 12th 2011 for Sean Robertson. McPhee spent four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Everett and Kootenay before playing five seasons at the University of Regina.

  3. Speaking of Colton : is he not worthy ( he , who bled Viper blue for several seasons [ 4 ? ] ) , of a banner in the rafters , like several Snake standouts ?

  6. Colton Sparrow played four years with the Vipers (2010-2014) Played in 188 games collected (32-goals-55-assists-87-points) Sparrow is 7th on Vernon junior hockey's all-time games played list.
