  1. Starting the pre-season/Okanagan Cup 0-4 you knew something had to give and the Vipers make just their second trade of the season.

I hate to see a trade where the Vipers give up two players & future considerations. You hate to see the Vipers trade a local kid away but Colby Feist saw limited time last year and was also injured/out of the lineup for close to a month or so. Feist collected eight points last year as a 17 yr old while Brett Fudger collected fourteen points in 48 games last year as a rookie. I thought Feist needed to play more and get some experience under his belt. He was an average player most of the season. He was physical now and again but wasn't consistent game after game and I think being out of the lineup for so long, hurt his game. I liked Fudger, a physical winger who played hard and worked hard game in and game out. I think Vernon was relying more on him this season with a young lineup.

Going with a young lineup this season, it was only expected that the veterans from last year would be forced to step up this year and carry the load. Not being able to attend games this season, and having to watch games online, it's hard to get a real take on the team at times but I haven't seen many vets step up and lead by example. Not only did Vernon need some offence but I think today's trade is a wakeup call to the rest of the group.

Arquiett is entering his second season in the BCHL put up 30 pts last season in his first year with the Capitals. With the addition of Arquiett this gives the Snakes four twenty year olds. The Snakes went with a young lineup this year and it's showed after only four exhibition games. Bringing in a 20 yr old with not only help on and off the ice but bring some leadership and experience to the lineup and dressing room. I don't know much about him other then going by his stats online. The Snakes have scored just three goals in four exhibition games, hopefully can count on Arquiett for some offence.

Jason McKee said in the post game show Saturday he was going to be making some changes/roster moves. With still 26 players listed on their roster, will we see more changes coming?
