  1. I was at a family Thanksgiving dinner this evening and couldn't catch the Vipers game until after I got home. The game was long over after I got home but I was still able to watch the game on Hockey TV.

The visiting Penticton Vees jumped on the hometown Vipers early and often, scored two power play goals six minutes into the hockey game. I thought the Vees looked hungry and were the better team in the first half. The Snakes seemed to turn things around towards the second half of the period and played much better to finish off the 1st period. The Vipers got on the scoreboard in the middle frame and I thought played very well in the 2nd and 3rd periods. Vernon played there best game at the Okanagan Cup tournament but still come away with a loss. The Vipers had some very good looks/chances also missed on a few quality opportunities once again couldn't capitalize on there chances. Yaniv Perets was solid between the pipes for the Vees making 28 saves. This was a very entertaining and exciting hockey game to watch.

For the Vipers I really liked Ayden Third, Griffen Barr & Ethan Mercer. For the Vees I liked Liam Malmquist, Luc Wilson, Jack Bar & Yaniv Perets.

With the win the Vees improve to 6-0 while the Vipers fall to 0-4. Let's face it, the Vipers can't score and don't have any goal scorer's. Jason McKee is going to have to go out and make some moves to try and bring in some scoring. The Vipers played hard and gave Penticton a good run but at the end of the day, they still fell short and have yet to win this pre-season. I know it's early and it's only exhibition games but this is what happens when you put together a young roster with not a whole lot of junior hockey experience. I'm still wondering why the Vipers went with such a young team? The Vees are loaded with a ton of veteran/junior hockey players as well are most of the other teams across the league.

Jason McKee said in the pre-game show Vernon has eight players out of the lineup with injuries and will be making some cuts/roster moves this week.

The Vipers host the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Friday.

  3. Thanks for the update Bob. I noticed Paterson was missing from the roster but I didn't notice Johnson. Thanks for visiting my blog and your support/comments.

  4. Well.....not to toot my horn or anything, but it appears my prediction of the Vipers being 0-4 after this past weekend has come true! Judging by some of the past comments last game.....things are a little unsettled in Viper land.
    I feel your pain!
hopefully you can steal a game off of the Silverbacks coming up. We will have it in tough playing Penticton coming up....but at least we have a few wins under our belt and our team is looking good so far this year!
It's an exciting time to be a Warriors fan!

  5. Your bragging because you picked the top team in the league that is undefeated to beat a team that is struggling and has yet to win this preseason?

Clap clap clap, you deserve a pat on the back! Most fans that follow the league could have predicted the same outcome, give me a break!

    Your a troll!

Thanks Jim! I don't see your prediction anywhere on here, but I appreciate you replying all the same. The thing about a troll is that they are so hard to ignore....looks like it worked with you hook line and sinker. Lol!
Stay in the shadows Jim....this blog has way too many lurkers and not enough people willing to throw their neck out there a little bit.
At least it makes things interesting around here!
