After seven long months it's finally here! The Vipers last played March 6th eliminating the Wenatchee Wild in five games in the opening round of the BCHL playoffs, before the remainder of the season was cancelled days later due to COVID-19. After a very long off season, the 2020-21 season is finally here! Today is like Christmas morning, as I can't wait to see the new team/players and get the season going. With not being able to watch training camp and no stats/information on the team during training camp, fans didn't get that opportunity to check out the new players/training camp. Tonight will be the first look at the 2020-21 Vernon Vipers for the fans and a chance to see the new players in game action for the first time. I should be on my way to West Kelowna right about now, but due to COVID-19 I'm stuck at home, forced to watching the game online. It will be very hard, not being able to watch games live and in person. I guess we should be happy that junior hockey returned.
ReplyDeleteGo Vipers Go!
Go Warriors Go!
ReplyDeleteVipers are the most overrated team in the league. Nobody wants to play in Vernon anymore, the fans are awful and think they deserve a championship every year. The arena is dead quiet and they don't have any sense of community.
Wow “Uncle Ben”... the puck hasn’t even dropped to start the long awaited season & you are already slagging the competition. Sorry your son or nephew couldn’t make our team. Yes, our arena is “dead quiet” but only due to the COVID crisis, otherwise it would have about 2,000 fans for each game. How is the attendance at your arena since your past owner drove the franchise into the ground? I am actually happy to see good people back running the Warriors because it is good for the league & certainly best for your players. “They don’t have any sense of community”? Who are you referring to? Vernon players, as in most other BCHL communities, do a lot of community volunteering, mostly with school age children. This also has been curtailed due to the ongoing a COVID crisis. Or... maybe you meant the fans? That is just a ridiculous comment that does not deserve a rebuttal.
ReplyDeleteThankfully we have games. Cheer loud & proud for your team. Let’s play hockey. Go Vipers Go!!!
I think Uncle Ben is a troll

ReplyDeleteHaha! Typical Vernon fan. I have no son or nephew in the race....just a fan of hockey and longtime follower of this blog (the best around btw). The arena is lucky to get 2000 players for playoff games....not even close during the regular season. When it is full, it is quiet and fans leave with 10 minutes left when they're down a goal so they can beat the Vernon rush hour. Lmao!
Yup, our past owner didn't work out so well.....according to the comments on this blog the past year.....looks like Vernon fans will get a taste of what that's all about coming up! Haha!
I was referring to the Vipers organization not having a sense of community. They don't even inform their fans of trades or player rosters and rarely have articles written on them in the paper or media. No wonder no fans show up!
I appreciate you giving my reply a rebuttal....I guess it deserve one after all!
By the way........who won the game tonight??
GO Warriors Go!
