The Vernon Vipers opened training camp today. The West Kelowna Warriors reported last week that teams from the Interior will play exhibition games in September, October & November with no fans. The BC Hockey League wants to start the 2020-21 regular season December 1st, depending the approval of the BC Government.
Here is the press release from the Vernon Vipers twitter account,

Can someone from the Vipers post the rosters from training camp? Do we know who is returning from last season? Because fans aren't allowed to attend training camp this year, any kind of information on training camp would be very helpful.
ReplyDeleteThank you,

10 Returning Players from last season are - Donohoe, Feist, Glen, Tanaka-Campbell, Taylor, Fudger, MacDonald, Shostak, Kent, Bulawka. Maybe "Herbst" He's trying to cross the Border. With no luck.
DeleteKal Tire Place is open for the public to watch the Training Camp. The door is locked after the Players Enter the Building. Selection A is the views sits.
Training Camp open up on Tuesday, September 1st.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information. Does someone have a training camp schedule & rosters?
ReplyDeleteHow are fans allowed into Kal Tire Place for training camp but no fans are allowed to attend the upcoming exhibition games? I didn't think fans would be allowed to attend training camp.
Fans are not allowed. From what I understand these are closed to the public
ReplyDeleteA positive to having so many exhibitions games is that by time fans get to watch games live or online, the teams should be well established with their systems and we should have some great hockey!
ReplyDeleteIf there are no fans this year, does anyone know if HockeyTV will give a portion of their fees to the local clubs that the fans are watching? It would be easy to do. When you pay to watch a game, HockeyTV could ask which team are you cheering for and then send that club a portion of the fees collected to watch the games. Just a thought.
Kal Tire Place is not open to the public and fans are not allowed to attend/watch the Vipers training camp. There are signs on the main doors, saying the arena is closed due to COVID-19. I have talked to a few Vipers fans/season ticket holders and they have all heard the same story. Graham Turnbull even said in a recent interview with Jason McKee fans are un able to attend training camp. If fans aren't allowed to attend the exhibition games, I didn't think they would be able to watch training camp.
ReplyDeleteMy Niece's practice is before the Vipers training Camp and we stayed behind to the watch it.
DeleteOh really? Were there other people watching besides you?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know how long training camp goes?
