New Recruit – Daniel Rozsival
June 19, 2020
Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers are pleased to announce the commitment of Daniel Rozsival.
Rozsival is from Chicago, Illinois and played last season with the Chicago Mission U18. He had 7 goals and 5 assists in 14 games played.
“Daniel has a ton of speed and skill and is tenacious on pucks,” says Head Coach and GM of the Vipers Jason McKee.
Rozsival was teammates with Desmond Johnson and Nick Remissong last season.
Daniel Rozsival's Player Profile:
Daniel is the son of former NHLer Michal Rozsival , who played for the Penguins , Rangers , and Coyotes .
ReplyDeleteOh I remember him. Thanks for the info.
ReplyDeleteI remember reading online about Daniel, Desmond Johnson & Nick Remissiong signing a letter of intent with the Vipers back in early February. One thing I noticed about all three kids was they didn't play much hockey last season. I don't know if that's just the amount of games those teams play over there? Or were they injured and missed games? Rozsival was a point a game player but only played fourteen games last year. I like the fact he comes from a hockey background with his dad playing in the NHL. I'm sure he's learned a lot of not only hockey skills from his father but what it's like to be a professional on and off the ice etc. The Vipers have been very busy the past few weeks announcing new recruits/committed players. With a possible fourteen players eligible to return from last years Vipers team, the Snakes roster is filling up quickly. With the 14 returning players and new committed players, the Vipers roster is sitting at 22 players. I don't think James Porter Jr will make the Spokane Chiefs lineup this year as a 20 yr old. Will he return to the Vipers and put them with four 20 yr old goaltenders? Will the Vipers keep Hunter Donohoe as a 20 yr old? For a veteran defenceman last season, Donohoe made way too many mistakes and was turning over the puck game after game.

What about JoJo's brother is he not in the mix? I totally agree about Donohoe and it will either be Herbst or Palaga. You can't afford to 2o yr old goaltenders
ReplyDeleteJoJo's brother hasn't committed to the Vipers that I know of.
ReplyDeleteJojo's brother is just finishing grade 11 at Shawnigan Lake. He might want to finish grade 12 there. There isn't a school in Vernon that is close to that academically. His committment to Yale is for 2022-23, meaning he could finsh at Sahwnigan Lake this year and still have one year in Junior A before going to Yale.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we seem to be only attracting One and Done players. They all have adequate or great statistics from their youth academy's or prep schools but when they get to the BCHL its to big of a jump for them to adjust in one year. Proof of that is in the recruits from last year. Gone are the days of developing kids for 2 or 3 years and getting them to live and play in the Vipers Tradition.
