Goaltender John Hawthorne led all vote getters with an astounding 71% of ballots coming back with John’s name! Hawthorne was wildly successful in 2 seasons with the Bulldogs appearing in 91 regular season games and 11 more in the playoffs. Last season, Hawthorne posted a 2.95 GAA and a .918 SV %. Hawthorne is currently a freshman at the University of Northern Michigan.

Mitch MacMillan simply dazzled Bulldogs fans during his time in Port Alberni. MacMillan posted 87 goals and 138 points in just 104 games. He is the last BCHL player to score 60 goals in a season after putting up 61 goals during the 2009-2010 season. After his 4-year collegiate career came to an end, Mitch returned to Okanagan to begin life in business and begin raising a family.

Mitch Deelstra is the current Bulldogs captain and is committed to play college hockey at Ferris St next season. After joining the Bulldogs last season from Ontario, Deelstra has scored 45 goals and added 36 assists in 112 games with the Bulldogs. Mitch of course has 3 games remaining in his BCHL career, and Bulldogs fans hope to see Deelstra lead the club to it’s first playoff series win since the 2012-2013 season.
