Restaurants and bars across British Columbia have temporary closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. BNA Brewing in Kelowna, BC is one of a list of many and is owned by former Vernon Vipers goaltender Kyle Nixon.

Nixon played parts of one season in Vernon (1999-2000) Nixon played in 16 games with the Vipers before being traded to Penticton during the 1999-2000 season. Nixon went on to play three seasons at Minnesota State University before playing his final year of hockey in 2005-06 with the Nijmegen Emperors a professional ice hockey team in the Netherlands.

Venues including Craft, BNA, Cactus Club and The Keg begin temporary closures

Restaurants and bars across British Columbia have announced temporary closures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It comes after the provincial health officer, Dr Bonnie Henry, warned people in the province to avoid gatherings of 50 or more people.
Craft Beer Market, Keg Steakhouse, BNA Brewing and Cactus Club are among the venues choosing to wind down operations.
Craft said it was closing from Monday “until further notice,” adding that it is “unsure of when we will be able to re-open.”
Keg, meanwhile, will be closing all of its restaurants as of today.
“We anticipate the closure will be no less than two weeks, but we will provide more updates as the situation evolves,” the company explained in a statement.
The firm added that it is “committed to the wellbeing of our 10,000 passionate Keg employees. including those who will be out of work during the closure.”
BNA said its closure will not affect the tasting room, though it will take “extra precautions” to keep numbers at safe levels.
The firm added: “You can continue to purchase six-packs or gift cards, fill growlers, and even stay for a beer.
“BoxcAr Kitchen will also be open, and you can enjoy your meal here or take it home with you.”
Cactus said it is temporarily suspending all dine-in operations across Canada from today until March 31.
“We will continue to accept takeaway orders online and are ramping up our take-out/takeaway and delivery platforms,” the firm added in a statement.
The company also explained: “We are doing our best to balance whatever is right for our employees, our guests, and our communities.”
