On This Day In Vernon Vipers History:

Fifteen years ago today (April 14th 2005) In Game 3 of the BCHL League Finals best of seven series vs the Surrey Eagles, Vernon Vipers forward Cody McMullin tied the game 2-2 at 10:00 of the 3rd period before scoring at 5:00 of double overtime as the hometown Vipers defeated the Surrey Eagles 3-2 in double overtime in front of 1,755 fans at the Civic Arena. Surrey outshot Vernon 47-43 Jon Olthuis made 45 saves in the win, while Michael-Lee Teslak made 40 saves in the loss. The Eagles lead the series 2-1 would eventually win the series 4-1 winning the Fred Page Cup and advancing to the Doyle Cup vs the Camrose Kodiaks.
