  1. This was an entertaining game but again Vernon fell short. The Vipers were coming on strong late in the third period but it would be nice to see that desperation or sense of urgency a little earlier in the game.

I was thinking about Mr Glen saying he wanted a "fast paced/quick transition team". I believe we have the speed & enough skill to be successful but think we fall short on the quick transition. Our defensemen constantly over handle the puck, choosing to make an extra D to D pass or a back pass instead of passing the puck up immediately and trying to catch opposing players behind the play. This delay allows the other team to get into defensive mode, pick up their checking assignments and forces the Vipers offense to play 5 on 5. We see very few odd man rushes into the offensive zone now. This used to be a Viper strength and is certainly what makes the Penticton Vees successful. Quite simply, a quick transition team creates more scoring chances and a better chance of success. Am I right in what I see?
