Ex Viper Jandric Named WCHA Forward Of The Week:

Former Vernon Vipers forward Steven Jandric has been named WCHA Forward of the Week.

Jandric is in his third season at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, played two seasons in Vernon (2015-2017) Played in 115 regular season games with the Vipers collected (34-goals-39-assists-73-points).

Steven Jandric Named WCHA Forward of the Week

FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Steven Jandric of the Alaska Nanooks hockey team was named this week's WCHA Forward of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-25. This is the Nanooks third weekly award of the season.

Jandric put up four points in Alaska's sweep of Ferris State on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18. Those four points led the whole WCHA in total points this weekend. Jandric, who hails from Prince George, B.C., grabbed the game-winning goal for the 'Nooks in their 2-0 win on Friday night. Following his lone point, Jandric responded with a three-point performance on Saturday evening with one goal and assisting on two others.

Jandric now leads the Nanooks in points with 18 on seven goals and 11 assists, surpassing Max Newton over the weekend. This is Jandric's second career WCHA weekly award with his first coming on Oct. 23, 2017 when he was named the league's Rookie of the Week.

The Nanooks return home this weekend and will face-off with ranked opponent, Northern Michigan on Jan. 24-25 at 7:07 p.m. and 5:07 p.m. AKT.
