Trade Alert! – Vipers Move Scott to Centennials
October 12, 2019
Vernon, BC: The Vernon Vipers have traded 19 year old defenceman Doug Scott to the Merritt Centennials in exchange for future considerations.
Scott had 1 goal in 6 games for the Vipers this season.
Doug Scott's Player Profile:
I have to wonder why Scott was moved. Thought he was one of the better puck moving defenseman on the Vipers and he wasn't afraid to shoot the puck. Thought he could have been a leader on defense for the next couple years

ReplyDeleteI was shocked to hear this trade when I got to the arena tonight. I really liked Scott and thought he had a heck of a game Friday night in the win over Merritt. He likes to move the puck, has a good shot, gets pucks to the net and plays well at both ends of the rink. The Vipers did have eight defencemen, prior to the trade and most teams carry only six or seven d-men. You knew one would have to go, but I didn't think it would be Scott. The Centennials will be Scott's third team this year and fifth team in the last two years. Maybe there's more to this trade then we think? Scott played last year with Coquitlam & Cowichan before being traded to Grande Prairie in the off season. The Vipers acquired Scott September 3rd. Vernon now has an open roster spot, was Scott traded because they already have someone on there way? or are they in the looks of adding another forward? Only time will tell. Wishing Doug all the best in Merritt. The Vipers play in Merritt Wednesday.
