EHC Kloten Sign Vipers Alumni MacMurchy:

The EHC Kloten have signed former Vernon Vipers forward Ryan MacMurchy.

EHC Kloten is an ice hockey team based in the city of Kloten in Switzerland. The team plays in the Swiss League, the second tier of Swiss ice hockey.

MacMurchy spent the past three seasons in Germany, playing with the Deutsche Eishockey Liga Adler Mannheim Eagles.

After four years at the University of Wisconsin, MacMurchy went on to play the next five seasons (2006-2011) In the East Coast Hockey League & American Hockey League with six different teams (Peoria, Stockton, Springfield, Victoria & Abbotsford). MacMurchy has spent the past seven years overseas with five different teams (Stavanger Oilers, Red Ice HC, EHC Biel-Bienne, ERC Ingolstadt and Adler Mannheim Eagles). 

MacMurchy played one season in Vernon (2000-2001) collected (4-goals-16-assists-20-points) in 55 regular season games with the Vipers. MacMurchy was selected by the St. Louis Blues in round 9 #284 overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

MacMurchy to the EHC Kloten

Ryan MacMurchy bumps as the second foreigner beside strong tree to the EHC Kloten. The tall Canadian signs for a season.

Kloten is not the first station in Switzerland for MacMurchy. Already in the seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14 the final-strong wing for Red Ice HC in the Swiss played league and the EHC Biel in the Nationwide league. Last MacMurchy accumulated in the DEL for the eagles Mannheim. « We are glad to have found a Sniper with MacMurchy which already knows the league and the Swiss hockey. », thinks sports boss Felix Hollenstein about his newest transfer.
