The Yale Hockey Academy has announced Mark Holick as the new head coach of their Midget Prep team for the 2018-19 season, as well as the new director of midget programs at Yale.

Holick will also be working with students this off-season on skill development, and will be assisting with student recruitment for next season.

Holick brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the Yale Hockey Academy. His background includes six years behind the bench in the Western Hockey League as head coach of the Kootenay Ice (2007-10) and Prince George Cougars (2013-16). He was awarded the Dunc McCallum Memorial Trophy as WHL Coach of the Year in 2010.  He has also coached professionally in the American Hockey League for the Syracuse Crunch (2010-12), and most recently, as head coach of HC Pustertal Wolfe in the Alps Hockey League.  Prior to coaching, Holick played professionally in the AHL, East Coast Hockey League and Central Hockey League.

“Given Mark’s extensive coaching resume, I feel that he will be an incredible asset to overall skill and player development,” said Yale Hockey Academy Coordinator, Billy Wilms.  “We are very fortunate to not only have him coming on board with us, but to be part of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League.”

Holick has also expressed his excitement about joining the Lions and said he’s looking forward to getting behind the bench this fall.
