Lightning Select Taylor 214th Overall:

The Tampa Bay Lightning have selected Vernon Vipers goaltender Ty Taylor 214th overall in the 7th round at todays NHL entry draft.

Taylor recorded a 1.87 goals-against average in 31 appearances for the Vernon Vipers of the British Columbia Hockey League

Tampa Bay used its final pick in the 2018 NHL Draft to select its second goalie this year, taking Ty Taylor of the Vernon Vipers in the British Columbia Hockey League with pick No. 214 of the Seventh Round.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound, left-handed catching Taylor posted a 23-5-3 record with a 1.87 goals-against average, .931 save percentage and seven shutouts in 31 games in 2017-18 for Vernon to win the BCHL top goaltender award.


Taylor is 18 years old and will turn 19 on July 5. He will play next season at the University of New Hampshire.
